Steve Luyckx was born in Detroit, Michigan, the fifth of six children. He graduated from Michigan State in 1986 with a BA in Logistics and a Masters degree in Finance a few years later. He began his professional career at Chrysler/DaimlerChrysler Financial, and his leadership at DaimlerChrysler led to an invitation in 2009 to become the founding president of ODE.
Luyckx has presided over the company’s explosive, successful growth by employing a people-focused mindset that embraces failure as a learning exercise. Luyckx says his experience at ODE has brought many challenges – and failures – but he says he and the company are better for them, and he seeks out employees who share that approach.
He continues to reside in Michigan with his wife and three children. Over the last 15 years he has become an avid runner and completed 17 marathons including 3 in Boston.
