About Staff Accountant II

Open Dealer Exchange is seeking a Staff Accountant to support its business in Farmington Hills, MI. This position will report directly to the Accounting Manager and work collaboratively with the entire accounting department. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for assisting the Accounting Department in a wide range of activities to ensure the integrity and accuracy of the Company's accounting information and financial statements. The ideal candidate for this role is detail-oriented, has advanced Excel skills, can identify errors, and has obtained an education in an accounting-related field.


  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end accounting close activities, deliverables including preparation and review of journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis
  • Assist in running the monthly billing and perform the necessary audits to ensure accuracy.
  • Post bank transaction to the GL for multiple accounts
  • Assist in the identification and resolution of accounting discrepancies and irregularities
  • Process payroll
  • Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for external audit
  • Assist in preparing the monthly reporting package
  • Assist with other areas of accounting and complete special ad hoc reporting projects as needed

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience as Staff Accountant or similar role
  • Proficient in MS Excel
  • Highly accountable, flexible, and effective under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail oriented and deadline driven with good analytical, organization, and communication skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience with Power BI & Power query
